Heading to IMEX America 2015?

We’re gearing up for IMEX America this week in Las Vegas where 3,000+ #Eventprofs will be meeting up on the show floor and networking in full force, with mobile devices in hand as they visit each booth and see what’s new in the world of events!

Here are some apps that we at Meeting Pool thought might be handy for all of the events professionals heading to Las Vegas for this huge industry show. Be sure to comment or Tweet us to let us know if there are any that we missed!

Stop by the TECHnexus in stand 264 on the show floor to see us live and get first-person insight into even more apps and gadgets!

#1 Must Have:

The IMEX America App

imex_app
How could we list essential apps for IMEX America without first starting with IMEX’s very own event app? The IMEX America app will provide you with everything you need to stay on schedule, go paperless, and stay social throughout the event. The app is available on iOS and Android but if you have a Windows phone or a Blackberry, you can still use the mobile web option.

Getting There (Travel Apps):

TripCase - Travel Confirmation ManagementTripCase
 (iPhone and Android)
TripCase is your in-pocket travel tracker. If you’re floating in a sea of travel confirmation numbers, TripCase comes to the rescue. The app stores your full trip itinerary and all of your confirmation numbers so that you can check-in, check-out, and keep moving!

HotelTonight - Room FinderHotel Tonight (iPhone and Android)
It’s always good to have a back-up plan for when Murphy’s Law comes into play (and it inevitably does). Hotel Tonight is a fantastic tool to have on hand when you’re traveling and need a last minute room at an “I totally planned ahead” rate. And don’t expect to wind up in a roach motel, Hotel Tonight partners with top-rated hotels so you can rest assured that you’ll be sleeping comfortably.

GateGuru - Airport GuideGateGuru (iPhone and Android)
GateGuru is an app designed to get through the airport quickly and easily by providing you with everything you need to know about the airports you visit including amenities, tips, maps, local weather, and more. You can also track your travel stats and event rent a car right from the app.

Gogobot - Travel GuideGogobot (iPhone and Android)
Gogobot is a travel app created to provide users with destination-specific acitivities so you can get a feel for a destination even before you arrive. The app’s itinerary feature allows you to organize your schedule by day, by city, and by activity. You can even setup a collaborative itinerary so you can make plans with friends or colleagues while you’re in town.

At the Show (Networking, Notetaking, and More):

Evernote - NotetakingEvernote (iPhone and Android)
Evernote is one of our most favorite apps. Between the organizational features, the quick notetaking features, and the camera features – there are at least 100 ways that the app can help you in your day-to-day and at events. One of our favorite features is the business card scanner. Amidst all the hustle and bustle of an event or conference, you run the risk of losing track of the business cards you’ve collected throughout the day. Use the Evernote app to photograph your business cards and even link the card to LinkedIn so that you can remember to connect online later!

Expensify - Expense ManagerExpensify (iPhone and Android)
Reciepts are another item that can easily be lost during a trip or an event. Expensify helps not only you but your administrators back at the office. After you’ve tracked and saved all your expenses to the app then you can quickly and easily create a report for your accounting team.

Uber - TransportationUber (iPhone and Android)
We love to recommend Uber because it’s just so convenient! Cashless and reliable, its a fantastic way to get around when you’re in an unfamiliar city. It’s quick and easy to use – you simply put in your location and destination, call the car, jump in when the driver arrives and be on your way. And since your credit card information is saved to the app, you don’t have to worry about digging through your purse or wallet to find your cash or credit card.

MobileDay - Conference Call BridgeMobileDay (iPhone and Android)
Have a handful of conference calls scheduled while you’re at IMEX? Don’t worry, MobileDay will help you make those calls on time and without any stress. The app syncs with your smartphone calendar, notifies you about upcoming meetings, and allows you to dial into any call, conference bridge, or online meeting with just one touch.

Dashlane Password ManagementDashlane (iPhone and Android)
Stop writing your passwords on slips of paper or into random notebooks. Dashlane securely manages your passwords, form information, and even purchasing information (like credit cards) for you. Dashlane will also audit your passwords for strength and it encrypts and stores those passwords across all your devices (not even Dashlane employees can access them). Don’t get caught without your password ever again.

Just for fun:

VegasMate - Las Vegas Travel GuideVegasMate – Las Vegas Travel Guide (iPhone)
Looking to have a little extra fun while you’re in Vegas? Check out the VegasMate app. With maps, hotel information, and even a feature that lets you know what restaurants are open in real-time, the VegasMate travel guide could easily become your new best friend in fabulous Las Vegas.
