Event Technology ‘Decision Engine’ Launches as Go-to Source for Latest Industry News and Tech Information

AMERICAS INCENTIVE BUSINESS TRAVEL & MEETINGS EXPO (AIBTM), Chicago, IL – June 11, 2013 – The Meeting Pool, the global authority for technology news, information and comparisons for event marketers and professionals, today announced the official launch of the site at www.meetingpool.net. The Meeting Pool staff will be showcasing the new online portal live at the TECHbar, a featured technology education and demonstration area in the Future Events Experience at meetings industry expo AIBTM in Chicago June 11-13, 2013.

The Meeting Pool is a powerful “decision engine” for the industry is designed to present truly agnostic, head-to-head, feature-driven comparisons of the technology solutions that event professionals invest in and leverage to produce successful events. The Meeting Pool speaks to the need of empowering face-to-face experiences through digital innovation in order to inspire planners, stakeholders and most importantly, attendees.

“This interactive portal was a vision that stemmed from a vital need I saw in the events industry,” ezplained The Meeting Pool. “As I spoke at conferences training event marketers, planners and decision makers on how to leverage technology solutions to improve the efficiency and engagement at their events, I discovered that most struggled to find a reliable source to research the myriad of technology solutions that are out there. And conversely, there were some great emerging tech solutions that were not finding an industry audience easily. We designed The Meeting Pool to be that central point where research occurs and then, importantly, a dialogue begins. That dialogue is facilitated on the site among both the event professionals reviewing, rating and discussing solutions, as well as directly between the tech companies and decision makers who are looking to purchase.”

The decision engine, the core of The Meeting Pool, will consolidate event tech solutions in a categorized directory that leverages select and compare functionality. This easy-to-navigate approach lends itself to direct comparison of feature sets across suppliers. Further research and evaluation is generated from listing pages that highlight ratings and reviews from users and customers of the vendors.

When a decision maker is interested in further information from a technology supplier, that prospect can actually use The Meeting Pool as a communication tool to send an email message, click to call, or set an appointment time with vendors directly from a premium listing. Those premium listings also serve as an online showcase for product information, press releases, video content and more from new event technology partners that are entering the marketplace and yet are not known, as well as from mature technology providers introducing new product lines or solutions to the industry.

“The Meeting Pool is a welcome concept that is going to bring broader exposure to technology solutions for events,” said Lawrence Coburn, CEO & co-founder for Double Dutch. “The planners and event marketers who are searching for the right vendor to meet the specific needs of sometimes thousands of events in a year are pressed for time and rarely have the opportunity to do an exhaustive search. The Meeting Pool will allow us to showcase our newest and most innovative features to the right audience in an easy-to-digest format. We look forward to being publicized on the site.”

The Meeting Pool will also feature a growing repository of content from throughout the meetings and events industry, as well as cutting-edge editorials, product reviews and trend-based articles from expert editors and contributors. The research process for new and innovative tech solutions will additionally be complemented with practical ‘how to’ guides and tutorials, informative white papers and eBooks, presentations from speakers and conferences around the world, and evolving best practices with specific advice on how to better plan and execute technology-fueled events.

“Event professionals are under more pressure than ever to find and purchase new and improved platforms and technologies to further enhance their events, even suppliers are evaluating ecosystem and partnership opportunities to forge comprehensive, innovative, combined solutions for clients. We hope The Meeting Pool will be the spot that the industry gravitates to for technology information, research and discussion – both positive and for areas that need improvement – and are sure that it will facilitate thousands of the right partnerships.”
