Today we couldn’t be more excited to announce that the Eventbrite family is growing. We’ve acquired the London-based event data company Lanyrd, and Argentinian-based ticketing company Eventioz. In 2012, organizers used Eventbrite to host events in 179 different countries, and with today’s announcement, we’re excited to help more organizers around the globe manage their ticketing and registration.
Lanyrd is a social conference directory based in London that helps attendees, organizers and speakers get the most out of professional events and conferences. As a crowdsourced directory, Lanyrd allows access to event information, slides and video of presentations in a seamless, cross-platform experience via the web and a suite of mobile apps. So, if you’re an organizer, we hope to minimize the pain in finding past speaking material, photos and logos for speakers moving forward!
Eventbrite will continue to support Lanyrd and its community after the acquisition, and just today, they announced new API integrations. Over the coming months, Lanyrd’s team will be relocating to the Bay Area to join our 100+ strong team of engineers in San Francisco.
Eventioz is a Latin American ticketing platform, similar to Eventbrite, with operations in 6 Latin American countries – Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Since the business started in 2008, it has helped more than 15,000 organizers sell over 1 million tickets to nearly 20K events.
Eventioz will remain in Argentina and Brazil to service Latin American event organizers and event-goers. We’ll be creating future integrations and improvements that will be beneficial to Eventioz customers, but there will be no immediate change to the platform as a result of the acquisition.
Both Lanyrd and Eventioz embody the same passion for live experiences as we do at Eventbrite, and we are absolutely thrilled to have them joining our team!
