This is a great infographic about email signatures, what’s in them, and what should be in them. The big point that I want to make is that we all should HAVE an email signature that we use and not only when you send an email. Your email signature should be there when you reply or forward as well.

An email signature does not need to be fancy but should include all of your contact details (especially if you are in sales).
